The story definitely has its flaws, mainly Adam, but Amazon limits the show to 8 episodes with a run time of 24 minutes for every season, so they have to rush it a little. It's not written poorly in my opinion. It's not some groundbreaking piece of art but it has genuine character growth and interesting plots. And if you're talking about Valentino, him being a sexual abuser isn't a problem with the show. Abusers exist and Angel's trauma is treated seriously. They also humanize the villains, while not excusing their actions. The characters are genuinely likeable. I used to be a hater until I watched it and realized a lot of the criticisms I believed were just bs and media illiteracy.
