Schools care about the process you use to get results than the actual results themselves. That's why they make you show all your work when doing math problems even if you're capable of doing the math in your head, and dock you for using strategies they don't like even if you got the right answer.
Companies only care about results. If you get results, you keep your job and you work your way up the ranks, regardless of how you get your results. One extreme example of this is when Cruella DeVil tells Jasper and Horace, "I don't care how you kill the little beasts, but do it, and do it now!" Well, what if Jasper and Horace decided to burn the puppies in an incinerator or blow them up with dynamite? Cruella wouldn't like that, would she? You can't make a spotted fur coat out of ashes.
