Passing a law banning advertising by big pharma would be a good start. It is already against the law in most countries. Remove that revenue from our media giants and watch those with low viewership numbers crumble and their talking heads lose their multiple million dollar contracts change. More people might have to choose careers that produce something valuable.

Those are some good points. Our media outlets are getting cash infusions from somewhere in order to keep their heads above financial waters with their ratings universally in the toilet.
