Very true. In the world of fashion starting in that period there was unisex clothing, and men started looking more like women. Men started wearing makeup- David Bowie comes to mind, Kiss was- well they had their own category that crossed a lot of lines. Men were told they needed to "get in touch with their feelings," as if they never had feelings before. Act more like a woman, not a man. Women's lib exploded and at the college I attended, guys literally carried around Mao's little red book to improve their batting average. Those guys scored way more often and spent their spare time at the free clinics. A lot more destructive stuff than that during that post draft period. Like Jimmy Carter.
