In the event of local government it's like this, having a town mayor for 40 years because nobody wants to run.... Or having a district win a seat because it only had one candidate on the ballot. I really think it's an accountability issue. We obviously have a lot of alcoholics, and possibly individuals using uppers, downers, and anything they could be prescribed holding many different governmental positions. If a individual makes it on the ballot, that individual should pass tests to make it on the ballot, or have a disclosure on the ballot for failing drug, background, or citizens testing. Just my personal opinion ... Maybe voters would be informed better.
