Seriously, though, I can vouch for the text of your meme. I lived and worked in the Twin Cities through the whole of the 1990s and there were many Somalis in Minneapolis even back then. Sounds like the other side of the aisle has been doing some time shifting.

I read an article in New York Times in the early 90s about some small town in South Carolina or someplace that isn't New York City or Miami AKA Immigrant Depot, and they were talking how Somalis were being brought there. And this was ye olde typical small town, everybody is of the same ethnicity and goes to the same Church and all that, but the mayor was talking about they were welcoming to these foreigners because it was part of their values to have open arms to them... Something like that.
