Great story, but I feel like the whole teens having superpowers and teens helping the police plot isn‘t very original.

It is if the eight-year-old is reading Grey’s Anatomy and Kojiro looking like he’s running on exactly three minutes of sleep, an entire coffee pot, and his own willpower
Why?
Before the disaster in the shop, the night before Kaito’s parents were…let’s just say that they were noisy.
And Kojiro never recovered cuz he lives closest to Kaito, but Ken was sleeping over, and knew what to do - a weighted blanket and a pair of noise canceling headphones later, Kojiro was back to normal. But he ended up pulverizing his third punching bag that week, skipped his soccer practice that day, and avoided everyone until he had to babysit Kaito, and that’s when the book disaster happened.
Put in this perspective:
POV: You’re Kojiro, talking with the shop owner, Mrs. Fox, about your latest crisis when you see your babysitting charge in the adult manga section.
“No. NO.
K A I T O
PUT. IT. DOWN!”
Kaito: “It’s for research.”
Kojiro: “YOU’RE EIGHT.”
*Ken enters the shop at that moment and sees Kojiro on the verge of EXPLODING.*
*silence*
*one walk to the nearest junkyard later*
Ken: “Do what you have to.”
Kojiro: *proceeds to destroy three fridges, a car engine, a washing machine, and two radiators before collapsing in a heap from exhaustion*
Ken: ….
*carries Kojiro home in his arms*
*reaches the house and opens the door to find Kojiro’s two little brothers and little sister waiting for him*
Little Brother 1: “Is that your boyfriend?”
Ken: *deadpan* “No.”
Little Sister: “MOM! KOJIRO’S BACK WITH HIS BOYFRIEND!”
Kojiro: *wakes up and blushes furiously* “KEN IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND, YOU HEAR ME?
Little Brother 2: “More like your bodyguard!”
Kojiro’s mother: “Calm down, you three. What Ken did was out of kindness and worry. Plus, your brother is tired and has had a bad day, so he needs some rest. *turns to Ken* “Thank you for bringing my son back home.”
Ken: *blushing a little* “It was nothing!”
*next morning*
Kojiro: *wakes up*
*hears something about Ken being a bodyguard*
*smiles*
“I have a great friend”

What is your story about?

It's complicated a bit
I'm trying to work on the power sets and the main characters' personalities
but it's about a kid that got separated from his parents and grew up to fight corrupt people in his town, and bc he was hurt by being lonely, he kinda feels content to be by himself
and he suddenly gets people coming after him and they always seem to know where he is and right as they're about to kill him, a girl comes and whisks him away to a different world (where those ppl are from) and he finds out he's actually from that world and was the son of a traitor, who hid him on earth to protect him because a prophecy said that he would determine the final outcome of a war in the future, and bc of that prophecy, many people wanted him dead, including royalty from many countries
the girl who found him is a princess who got wind of who he was and didn't think he should be killed as a youth without a chance to prove he was good, but she couldn't convince anyone of this, so she snuck out herself and saved him herself (which was hard bc of the castle's heavy guard)
and the whole culture looks down on anyone who uses any form of mystical powers to the point that the military comes and executes anyone who is seen practicing it, so they've rendered magic near obsolete by using fear mongering
But a growing number of people are wanting to use it to protect themselves after dark floating creatures start appearing in different places and start brutally killing random people
And several ppl with money and political power are covering that up bc they want to find a way to control these dark creatures so they can use them to control the public

It's full of plot twists and dark stuff
I basically just described the first few chapters of book 1
I'm planning to make 6 hopefully

In Naruto episode 3, this is where the titular character meets Sasuke, the guy who would become his best friend and rival. He’s mad that Sakura, the girl he likes, is only willing to sit near Sasuke, like most of the other girls, so Naruto stood on Sasuke’s desk and started death-staring him, but then a guy sitting in the front row stood up and accidentally knocked Naruto downwards and onto Sasuke’s face, AND THEY END UP KISSING…..
In front of not only the whole class…
BUT ALSO IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE NINJA WARRIOR GROUP WATCHING THEM VIA THE HOKAGE’S CRYSTAL BALL!

Let’s start with the teens:
1. Kojiro has tiger abilities, senses, and instincts. However, he still has to learn to control them, and is afraid of hurting anyone with his powers.
2. Ken has incredible reflexes, and can see what normal people ignore. Being Kojiro’s best friend, he’s one of the only people who can calm him down when he’s going nuts and assisting in anti-rage therapy.
3. Nazo, the guy who was abused, is clairvoyant and can see every possible future event. He also sweats truth serum from his palms, which, if ingested, can make people tell the truth.
4. Aiden, Nazo’s best friend, has a mostly universal power set, but his main superpower is manipulating the emotions of others.
5. Evelyn, who is the only girl in the teens’ group and the youngest, is actually the most powerful of them all, with a wider and more powerful range of powers, but her strongest and absolute favorite is manipulating light and lightning at will.
Now for the first graders:
1. Like I said, Kaito is incredibly smart. He wants to be a doctor when he grows up, so he mostly reads medical books and watched medical dramas to see how they work. But Kojiro always dreads babysitting him because he would get out of his way to make them watch movies Kaito is not allowed to watch “for research purposes”
2. Anya, another first grader, is a telepath. She’s sweet and innocent, but she’s also incredibly smart when it comes to processing situations. She can let people communicate telepathically with her as well.
3. Becky, Anya’s best friend, is a hypnotist, but only uses her powers for good. She loves romantic comedies, and would make her teachers reenact them for the class. The reason Becky agrees with Evelyn’s sassy attitude is because they both see Ken and Kojiro together in the next 10 years.
4. Then there’s Damian, who can enhance his strength depending on his feelings. He has a crush on Anya, but she’s a little oblivious. He loves his friends and would keep Kaito from reading stuff he shouldn’t so that they don’t get grounded.

A universal power set means that they have a lot of other powers, like speed, strength, and flight - that kinda stuff
Also Anya is the oblivious type who thinks someone is either good or bad.
I think Becky would read a lot of fanfics with Evelyn - who, BTW, is OBSESSED with BL romance, but just the fluff type
