BTW, this story was actually loosely based on a real thing that happened to Adam. To quote the Reddit comment that he posted with this comic:
"I was indeed traveling through Japan for my birthday several years back, and I did, in fact, find a delicious little ramen place tucked away down a rainy alley. It was so good that I went back multiple days in a row but eventually made myself sick one night. I’m not sure what the deal was—guess my body had just had enough. I spent the night in my hotel room violently ill with a fever, and that night I had a nightmare about being cooked in a soup. And if you think I didn’t go back to that ramen place again, you’re wrong. I went again the next day when I felt better."
