Some people are fed up with the way the public school system is being run. They are voting with their feet. It’s called the Bud Light syndrome. When the students leave, federal funds for student leave also. If there’s anything to blame, it’s the liberal socialist Democrats who have had their hand in the department of education through the teacher unions for decades

It must suck to live in a county who doesn't have local taxes to provide the best opportunity for the local children. Lets not mention the fact that your school board is obviously appointed and not voted in. How can you live in a county like that?

I don’t know about other states, but in the state where I live, school board members are elected.

There are local taxes to support local schools. Schools also receive federal funding, which is based on enrollment. The state I live in allows parents to choose whether their child goes to a private (charter) school or public school. Some of that school funding goes with the child to the private school if that happens. Public school system has now become top heavy with administration costs, and what some people think are excessive retirement benefits. Many people don’t like the social engineering going on in public schools, which frequently have very little discipline within the classrooms. Often it is not a good learning environment.

Many of the private school schools, sometimes classified as charter schools, put more emphasis on educating the basics of math, reading and science.

Don’t assume things you have no knowledge of.
