In theory they are susceptible to slander and libel laws but the reality is that most judges put the criteria for proof so high that it essentially becomes a joke.

That would be nice.  Have proof or at least present identifiable witnesses whom have SHOWN you their verifiable evidence for the claims they make.  So simply that even nation-hating leftists should be able to comprehend how it works.
