Leftists exclaim, "Reality, bah! What's it good for?" | IN THE UNITED STATES ONLY 30% OF RECENT COLLEGE GRADUATES WORK IN THEIR DEGREE FIELD, AND THOSE ARE MOSTLY STEM DEGREE HOLDERS. SO HEAVY DUTY IDEOLOGICAL INDOCTRINATION IN LEFTIST WOKEISM DOESN'T ACTUALLY PAY OFF IN THE LONG RUN. Aye . . . the heartbreak of leftism when it confronts reality.

I used to love telling people I had no plans on going to college and watching them look at me like I had three heads. Apparently, because I'm "super smart" (their words, not mine) I was pretty much obligated to do so.

I'm still not regretting that decision.

What college used to do was force youngsters to push their minds to the limits wrangling verifiable facts into logical threads to create a viable way forward to new knowledge down the line. Now? It's more or less degenerated -- outside of the STEM subjects -- to simply reinforcing toxic leftist ideology and their crackpot theories about the world.

In truth I think it's better for the intellectual maturity of people to have at least a couple of years of college under their belts than not. It's just that one also needs an innate or developed ability to think for oneself and separate ideology based leftist B.S. from reality.
