The racism comes in the use of ICE to terrorize whole communities that have some immigrants, but focusing on communities of color. The message is clear that to the radical right, people of color will never be considered Americans, even though most Black Americans and many Latino Americans have roots in the country from a much earlier date than (for instance) my White ancestors who arrived in the mid- to late-1800s.
