Usually, I ignore stupid comments, but I am going to share a lesson an African officer taught me. He made a statement that the US had no poor. I objected and gave a few examples from my point of view. He laughed and explained he attended an American college, he saw what I considered "poor". In his country a poor person ate one meal every other day. In ours they visit as many food banks as they want until they eat like rich people in his country. What I thought was American poor eat free, wear free clothes, get free Christmas gifts and live rent free. His last statement sealed the argument "No American starves and very, very few are ever hungry."
