California has more than one refinery shutting down. This will affect gas prices in Arizona, Nevada and Utah as well. Furthermore, California regulations will start fining gas stations $5000 per day for having underground tanks that are not compliant with new regulations. Independent Mom and Pop gas stations are going to close down in many small towns. These towns will lose jobs, convenient stores, and tax revenue. California will have to have CA-environmentally compliant gas shipped in from other countries to meet their demand. First responders across the state will also be impacted by the reduced availability and increased price of gas. Many people will have to drive 20 to 30 miles out of their way to fill their tank up.
It’s only going to get worse. Move out of California ASAP.
