Okay, I'll concede that NATO or the EU powers that be *may* want a war with Russia tbf coz they're morons, but most of the *ordinary people of Europe* don't. And I'd wager neither do the *ordinary people of any country, even the Islamic ones*.
And good luck getting the average Joe or Jane to sign up to be cannon fodder. You may have a lot of civil unrest and civil disobedience on your hands. War between two nuclear powers? Sounds like a great idea. We've never tried that.
This ain't 1914 or 1939 when people had no access to information and blindly went off to defeat Jerry and be back home by Xmas (lolz), or die for King and Country, and got blown to bits or died of trench foot or drowned in mud or got their brains blown out or other unthinkable ways, or mowed down in 2 seconds stepping off a boat by German machine guns. What a ridiculous and absurd waste of human life and potential. That was someone's daddy and son and uncle and brother. Ended in an instant for nothing. What a great chapter in human history lol.
The whole reason we commemorate those wars was because of "never again", because the atrocities experienced were off the charts and humanity collectively took a deep breath and said, "Oh shit, we better never repeat that evil."
The War to End All Wars, remember? Has everyone forgotten? I guess they have.
This is 2025 and we have the internet. Fake news and TikTok and viral bullshit and Russian bots and AI slop and people being dumb and believing whatever they read/see notwithstanding, I'd like to think we're just *ever so slightly* more informed than back then.
Actually going to war with Russia would be suicide. For starters, they may have a much weaker military, but they also have the biggest nukes ever invented (Tsar Bomba lol.)
I ain't signing up, anyway. They'll have to build more prisons.
