There are a whole lot of House members who have made a career of that job. I know Pelosi is finally retiring and she is one of them. I can only hope it is the career politicians who are retiring. There should never ever be any career politicians. But too many of them, especially (but limited to) Democrats, get into the House just so they can get rich from insider trading.

Wish it was that easy to be honest, but a ton of manufacturing is still outsourced to other countries.

Actually manufacturing is returning to America. The tariffs caused that. It's not happening very fast but the fact that we are seeing any at all is great. It's much better than the mass exodus of businesses and jobs we've been seeing for decades.

When the cost of imported goods costs the same as what it could be made in America, then a lot of businesses will come home.

We also need to reverse decades of policies that have terrorized American businesses. That will be the hardest part. It will be impossible if the Democrats get majority control in Congress in the midterms. Republicans can be difficult on putting America back the way it used to be, but we have a better chance of restoring America with Republicans than with Democrats.

Yes, the CHIPS and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act have done a lot to bring manufacturing back. Of course much of it will be done by automation at AI.
