Although it's not obvious most of the time Fox News is behind the scenes struggling between remaining quasi-conservative and going the way of leftist media outlets. So they sort of drift one way and then the other.

Now the following is pulled up from memory -- because I don't really care -- but Robert Murdock has an eldest and staunchly conservative son but several younger sons and at least one daughter who are hard core leftists; and last year a judge ruled that Murdock DOES NOT get to decide which of them gains control of the network.
