You've become very judgemental. I'm not a very modern Christian. I'm a solid conservative evangelical Christian. Christianity–when really taken seriously–is hard to accept, because, the truth is, if it's correct, most people aren't going to heaven. Even some of those who say they are Christian.
I mean, the language around "personal savior" hasn't really been a thing with the Christian church. But since the beginning of Christianity people say the same thing in essence. The Bible doesn't directly say personal savior, that's true. But before Jesus, people did not have direct access to God once Jesus came, we no longer needed a priestly mediator between us and God–because we now have Jesus.
Because of this direct relationship with God, Jesus is our "personal savior". This is my take and anything further or more radicalized is not what I'm saying.
As for your criticism of my criticism of your personal experience (I know, that was a doozy), yes, experience is a real thing, and yours has shaped you. My point is, there are plenty of people who have has some personal experience going one way or another, from Christianity, to Christianity. As a result, your experience is just an anecdote, assuming I used the term correctly.
