THE whole purpose of conservatism is unquestioning unwavering allegiance to a monolithic groupthink centered on a mythologized ages-old standardized way of life. The very last thing they would want is independent thought, which is why that is the first thing they seek to stamp out wherever they spread. Them being anti-education and anti-intellectual isn't exactly accidental. They loathe anything that differs even slightly from their established norm.
