The DoJ has the files. The DOJ could just start indicting, arresting, putting people on trial, and when found guilty, sending them to jail.

There's no need to 'trick' the democrats into voting to release the files. This is the really real world. Not a movie. They can just use the evidence to see if there was a crime, then arrest people who committed the crime, and put them on trial.

Its been through like 5 administration's now. If there was enough evidence to indict, they would have done it already. There are accusations by victims and witnesses but that's all.

YEah, there's a lot that's very fishy about the original deal like the part about how anyone else involved in his crimes wouldn't be held responsible.

My take is that he was involved in various governments intelligence operations and releasing the files would compromise multiple governments.
