Muslims were celebrating in the streets of New York with megaphones and claiming Islam is the one correct religion, while threatening that Islam would be entering new yorkers' houses after Mamdani won.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1x4DfPC3i24

Separation of church and state, leftists? No? We're past that whole phase now that mamdani was elected? Alrighty then.

I'm not complaining btw. The book of Lamentations is in the Bible for a reason.

You linked a youtube video full of the dumbest content I've watched in over 10 years. Nothing you have to say is valid after that. You should feel bad and so should your parents.

Why would I, a non-denominational Protestant Christian, cry about gays being thrown off of rooftops if your previous comments about Deuteronomy are to be taken without a grain of salt?

That's ironic coming from the guy who doesn't understand the concept of abrogation and how it applies to Christianity and Islam.

I'll give you a hint: Muhammad's more radical teachings later in his life abrogate his more peaceful teachings that happened earlier in his life, and the new testament of the bible abrogates the Old testament of the bible.

Your big problem here is that you think people operating Christian evangelical apologetics are the same as a religious scholar and that's just blatantly false. You have other small problems in your thoughts here but that's the biggest issue you're having with posting him as a "source." Be better.

" those Christian terrorists are adhering to Jesus's teachings"

Jesus said that which you do for the least of these you do for me. Let's start there. How many of these "christians" are helping the poor eat? All the christian politicians right now on both sides are willing to let kids starve. Your argument doesn't apply to politics then and your religion isn't helping either. The volume of people ACTUALLY doing what your bible claims is incredibly low but the volume of people claiming it who do violence and terrorism is incredibly high. As your bible says, fix the plank in your own eye before evaluating the dust in someone else's. -Jesus Christ, Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 7:3-5

Feel free to start BEING one of those who does what he says whenever you like.

"Conversely, peaceful Muslims are not adhering to Muhammad's instructions to commit jihad once the taqiyya phase has ended if they do not persecute anyone who refuses to convert to Islam."

“There is no compulsion in religion…” — Qur’an 2:256

"Whoever kills a person—it is as if he has killed all mankind; and whoever saves a life—it is as if he saved all mankind.” — Qur’an 5:32

Surah 4:128: “Reconciliation is better.”

“Forgive him who wrongs you; do good to him who does evil to you.” (Hadith)

You're also objectively and provably wrong about the Muslim faith.

I must have missed the part where you provided evidence of what it is you're accusing me of not doing to be Christian enough.

And no, David is a scholar of Islam, and he did not take those verses out of context. He has a university degree in studying it.

He's also a diagnosed psychopath who found God in prison, married an ex-muslim woman, and has two disabled sons with her that he provides for.

He's not exactly the type of person who would distort Arabic scripture (while receiving constant death threats from irate Muslims) for financial or any other gain.

If he were, he wouldn't include the fact he's a diagnosed psychopath (who is physically incapable of feeling strongly about Islam one way or the other) in his testimonial of how he became a Christian.

You didn't actually prove anything I said was incorrect.

"But Christians aren't doing what Jesus taught them to do therefore Christians are religious extremists who commit more acts of terror than Muslims!"

"Look at these heckin teachings from Muhammad calling for peace that were abrogated by his later teachings calling for the subjugation of the infidels! Clearly Islam is the religion of peace!"

You keep accusing me of not following Jesus's teachings with no evidence to back it, even as I spread the gospel as Christ instructed.

As for the formal teachings of Muhammad's abrogation from scholars of Islam who aren't extremists:

"You keep accusing me of not following Jesus's teachings with no evidence to back it, even as I spread the gospel as Christ instructed."

Wrong. I am giving you evidence of the plank in your own eye first and then I am quoting Jesus telling you to take that plank out before looking at the speck in other people's eyes. In this very thread, you are doing the opposite - which is the opposite of following Jesus. You're just not capable of keeping up.

"As for the formal teachings of Muhammad's abrogation from scholars of Islam"

First, let's not pretend a youtube video counts as a proper source, but I watched it anyway - just to have good faith to my response even though I doubt it will be reciprocated.

I'll go ahead and point you in your own video to around 2:57, where he illustrates that what was abrogated was the ability to execute self-defense, not the other way around. After this point, the first verse he conveniently does not put on the screen - we will ignore that verse since it breaks his pattern and should not be considered valid outside of his context if he can't maintain consistency.

The next verse "O prophet! Strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them" - Surah 9, verse 73

There is nothing in here advocating for violence. You can strive for many things. Christians also strive to spread the gospel and are unyielding. If you would not call that violent then it is not equal or fair to call this violent either. If this is violence, so is Christianity.

"O you who believe! Fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness." -Surah 9, Verse 123

So if you take the term "fight" here to implicitly mean violence then Paul writing to fight against the devil's schemes with the full armor of god is then just as violent and just as abrogating.

Surah 48, verse 29 = 2 Thessalonians 3:6, Titus 3:10-11 & 1 Cor. 5:12

The main problem you have here is that David Wood is an american Christian apologist and his work has routinely centered around the criticism of islamic beliefs - definitively making him a biased source. Secondly, he is not a muslim scholar. His academic studies have root in specifically oppositional stances to that which he wants to review and needs to be considered with respect to the religious scholar community.

As it regards the religious scholar community, his views are not a part of academic religious studies at all: https://en-academic.com/dic.nsf/enwiki/11621912

"But Christians aren't doing what Jesus taught them to do therefore Christians are religious extremists who commit more acts of terror than Muslims!"

Not "therefore" - please try to act smarter than this. One does not CAUSE the other. They are two symptoms that illustrate the point that your belief set is not fit to run the nation and, in fact, I gave you verses about things you should do first, like pulling that plank out of your eye, as Jesus Christ himself said to do first. Go ahead and follow his teaching whenever you like. This also isn't the CAUSE for them doing more terror than Muslims, that just happens to be an illustration of WHY you have the plank in YOUR eye and they have the speck in theirs. It does NOT mean there are no violent Muslims. It means YOUR problem with terrorism is statistically and provably larger than theirs so fix yours first as Jesus Christ told you to, if you believe that stuff.

"Look at these heckin teachings from Muhammad calling for peace that were abrogated by his later teachings calling for the subjugation of the infidels! Clearly Islam is the religion of peace!"

Bring me a single formal source from the Muslim community which is not rooted in extremism that confirms that Muhammad abrogated the concepts of no compulsion to religion and pursuing reconciliation. If you want to bring in extremists from that faith, then I will do the same of yours.

Ah yes, the classic "that's just the old testament" stuff. Tell that to the 60+% of domestic terrorist attacks that come from christian white nationalists in the USA.

https://www.csis.org/analysis/escalating-terrorism-problem-united-states

It's a good answer until it's proven wrong by actual reality.
1 up, 21h
Even if we assume Christians commit 60+% of terrorist acts in a Christian majority nation, and that you aren't citing politically slanted and curated statistics bent out of shape to confirm to the desired narrative, that still doesn't somehow mean those Christian terrorists are adhering to Jesus's teachings.

Conversely, peaceful Muslims are not adhering to Muhammad's instructions to commit jihad once the taqiyya phase has ended if they do not persecute anyone who refuses to convert to Islam.

Dearborn, Michigan.

Atheism is on the decline globally, as is Christianity.

Islam is rapidly outpacing both Christians and Atheists in both conversions and births.

Do the math, o educated one.

So you're saying that people who follow a religion believe that religion is true? 🤔😂😂

Separation of church and state has nothing to do with regular citizens talking about their religion
