When it comes to the rising cost of living, I don't know about the NY Republican choices, cos they generally suck as corrupt Democrat pawns.
But if one of them is in the hands of Trump, the real pure economical strategy will go in effect. You have NO idea the economical consequences illegals have on minimum wages and overall economy - you don't need to hate foreigners or something to get them away.
He does what is needed without stupid dogma. Like tariffs is a typical Democrat strategy, while Republicans usually think such things meddle too much with the "free market". Reps have given him toms of resistance on that.

Now they mean seem hapless over there in reactions to Arabs and Africans, but if I, as an actual American, went over there and said I was Danish - and then proceeded to lecture the local population about life in Denmark as I saw it, how many minutes would be left before I ended up a splatter on the street?

Trump is not keeping his promises because he never intended to. Those are fake promises. Just like Mamdani's are. Fact is, they're both nearly exactly alike, only Trump overtly caters to the rich, while Mamdani claims to serve those not as well off. That's a farce of course, and in fact as far as I'm concerned, Mamdani is a plant, a fake. The only thing he'll get is New York City getting cut off from a lot of Federal funding and get us occupied by the army. He's not against Trump, he's working FOR Trump, whether he knows it or not.

The cost of living in New York City has nothing to do with Democrat or Republicans. It has to do with capitalism. Basic capitalism. Everyone on Earth has the same dream. 8.48 million people have had that dream come true. Everybody wants to be us. Well we can barely first 8.8 million of us here, let alone 8 BILLION.

Competition for housing makes those prices go up, rents go up, the cost of operating stores go up, the cost of groceries go up, and thus the cost of living go up. It has nothing to do with some phony D vs R divide. The only divide there is the one that the monoparty wants to sow between people.

The population of New York City is 1/3 foreign born, 1/3 the American born children of foreigners, and 1/3 American two generations or more. We have 8.5 million people here. You have 6 million people in your country. We have more people of foreign families here then you have people. In your entire country. You're hardly in a position to tell me about foreigners and illegals, when I see more of them simply by walking down the street and from more places than you have in the entirety of your life. And that's including on television.

About the television thing, the fact is you're getting our news from a long distance filtered through the warp of a biased lens.

I grew up with most people having parents that were foreign born, families where English was often a second language to them.

When I was 8, we moved to an Italian neighborhood. Italians used to be the largest group of illegal aliens in the United States. I do believe Mexicans finally did surpass them, but the fact is if Trump was in office back then and was doing what he was doing now and he truly meant deport all illegals, this neighborhood would have then been literally nearly evacuated. And given that their most profitable industry was crime, I basically lived through a very very skewed example of what you claimed about illegals having an economic impact. In my case, it was illegal aliens having an illegal economic impact which was produced by illegal activity.

I have no recollection of this. Why would anybody laugh when that was what everybody was told to do by everybody else? Well, almost everybody. Supposedly there was a big contingent who didn't believe in washing hands or any other precautions to help hold the spread of the disease.

We had a plague that was killing millions of people in a year, we didn't have a decade to dilly dally and come up with a vaccine. Operation Warp Speed was Trump's project, and he took credit for developing the Trump vaccine. You can't blame other people for something he took credit for.
