And of course they'd call LOTR offensive for a bunch of reasons- It has moral absolutes. Good people do not use 'means justify the ends'(using the One Ring against Sauron) when battling evil. People can find redemption even at the last minute(Borormir realizing he messed up big time). None of us are perfect(Frodo breaking down and claiming the One Ring at the last second). Pure evil can't be reasoned with or bargained with. Just because people are put in a position political power or leadership doesn't mean they won't completely screw things up.(Steward of Gondor and Saruman) War is not a picnic and people are going to die or suffer in some way. . .and a brand new one - Aragorn becomes a king.
