When the writers of the Gospels and the rest of the New Testament acknowledged in their writings that women were the first to see the Risen Saviour knowing that their eyewitness testimony wasn't valued at that time. Someone "making up a story" at that time wouldn't have included that. Men who didn't value truth or women would've lied and claimed that privilege.
