Exactly, they don't, because most Jews are secular and about as religious as their Eastern European roots have made them to be.

Those are Orthodox Jews, Hasidics. Actual practicing Jews who live the religion.
They don't believe in the so-called State of Israel because they await the Messiah to lead them back to the promised land. And that applies to all Hasidic Jews, whether in America, in Eastern Europe, or in Israel itself. None of them recognize Israel as a current physical entity. None.
