Once upon a time the U.S. public educational system taught students that the president is a civilian in control of the military but is not himself a member of the military. But that was before nation-hating and Marxist-minded leftists took over total and permanent control of those public school systems.
This is true. The problem with that approach is that the innately strong-minded start thinking for themselves and start doing independent research anyway. We call them . . . conservatives.
