In 2030, The International Space Station Will Be Deorbited

This bothers me; plunking the crew capsules makes sense because operational safety lifespan but the solar panels are only 30 years old and good for another 50-70 years easy even accounting for output decline... seems like they should be kicked out to a higher orbit and kept for re-use. 🤔

I grew up going to Johnson Space Station in Houston. I'm old so I was actually one of the first civilians to touch a moon rock. I've seen the stuffed monkey and dog, ugh. I LOVE SPACE!!! But, I find all of it, except the long range satellites, wasteful. They'll start trying to harvest minerals from other planets and asteroids now. I find that irresponsible. Who knows what changing trajectories of astroids will do? They don't. I also think if we can do all we do, and plan to do, in space ... couldn't we use those resources to fix the ONLY planet we've got?

Don't ask me how I feel about St. Jude. I'm conflicted and in a deadlock about that one. I despise animal testing but ... kids. Ugh. Lol.
