Colorado used to have a very successful Honor Farm in the Pen system. Well behaved inmates raised all of the food they needed at the Pen, and it was a huge motivation to straighten up and behave for the inmates, so they could actually do something productive and learn real world job skills. They even had a dairy and made cheese, etc. They had other Honor camps that took perfect behavior to participate and had a waiting list to get in. All drastically reduced costs and provided for the penitentiary.

Yup. Democrats saw it was successful so they killed the program decades ago and the only thing on that land now is weeds. But the inmates have satellite TV and weight machines, so it's a wash, right?

Makes sense when you think about it, most of the worst criminals were dims, so why work when they can get free stuff and stay indoors.
