The sun started to set as I decided to take a walk to the park… I wonder if Pudding is still there. She’s been acting weirdly ever since I saw her… Eventually I find her sitting down on the same bench as before, fidgeting with her hands. Sitting next to her, I spoke up to get her attention. “Is something wrong?” Pudding looks up and puts on that fake smile again with a little peace sign to go with it.
“Yep! Perfectly A-O-Kay ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧” She says with false happiness… I wasn’t going to drop it this time though.
“Pudding… I’ve met enough people to know when people are being truthful or not. You can tell me. I’m your leader, after all. I have to make sure the people I’m working with are happy.” She takes a sigh, suddenly losing her cutesy voice that I didn’t even know was fake up until this point.
“...well alright… There was a fight earlier with the Knights… and one of the guys had some weird analysing powers… apparently my ability is practically useless, and even incomplete!. And I couldn’t even get a single attack…” She says looking down. But then she jolts up with her hands clasped together, her eyes looking for approval. “Matt, please! I need to know, do I have anything of value to this team? Would this team be better off without me?” I take a sigh… I recognize that feeling anywhere. The feeling where you don’t think you’re good enough to be in the place you’re at now…
“...How are you doin with everyone?” I say, answering her question with a question Pudding looks confused by this notion and starts thinking.
“Well, Zach and I have already become really close, Adrian and I were thinking about buying me new clothes, and Robert has been enjoying training me…”
“Well, there’s your answer.” I say standing up from the bench. “You see, it’s not what you do that makes you valuable, it’s who you are to people. The fact that you’re their friend is what makes you irreplaceable to the team… And who cares about your incomplete power? We’ll complete it later on…” I say trying to find better words to comfort her with, but she already seems happier than before. She nods in agreement, fired up and ready to go as she practically jumps out of her bench.
