I make my way through the woods, going through every bush and tree, until I finally make it to my destination. The Underworld. The terrifying place where you can hear the souls yelling for salvation… for someone to help them…
“Hey! What do you mean you ate all of the cheetos?!”
“Oh shut up! You don’t even need to eat!” …nevermind it’s just Aunt Angel and Fox. As I walk down, Angel sprints up towards me and ruffles my hair happily.
“Matty! You’ve grown so much! You look a lot like your father now!” She says giving me a kiss on the forehead.
“It’s been 4 weeks.” I say bluntly, but still happy to see her again. “Hey anyways where’s Medea? I have to talk to her about something.”
Angel and Fox point to a doorway across the room. I thank them and head on in. The sound of potions bubbling and stirring fills my ears. I head in deeper and I see the green transparent body of Medea, who died during the incidents a couple years ago… I rather not talk about it, it’s not important. But I go up to her and tap her on the shoulder. She jumps a little and drops her potions in the cauldron.
“Ugh! Matt you dumbass! What is it now?” She scolds me, turning around and pointing at me. “This better be good…” She says with that usual angst in her voice. I decided to cut straight to the point.
“I know about Adrian” I say, crossing my arms. Her eyes widen and she leans on her cauldron, sighing. “You created a daughter, just to leave her?”
“I…” She starts. “I just wanted to have a chance at being a mother again… But… It couldn't handle the guilt. I felt like I was just replacing someone.” She says, ashamed of her actions of the past. “Is she doing okay?”
“Well…” I was about to talk about the King and everything that happened last night but I know that would just worry her more. “She’s fine. She has people helping her now.”
“Good good… that's great…” She says staring back at the pot of potions she was making. I was about to leave her be, but then I heard her speak. “Do you… Do you think I should visit her sometime? She’d probably hate me by now…”
I go up to her and start talking. “She didn’t hold any hatred for you, nor did she seem to talk to you a lot… So I think you still have some time. It’ll be hard to talk to her, but I think you too will work it out.” I say trying to comfort her. A small smile appeared on her face and she nodded.
