“Hey, you don’t have a place to go, right? If you help out around the shop every now and then, I’ll let you stay. But no raiding the kitchen.”
“Okay!” She says almost immediately. “There’s no crackers anyways! (⁀ᗢ⁀)” I’m amused by her enthusiam as she picks up a mop and starts using the wrong end to mop the floor. Hero goes up to her, gets her own mop, and demonstrates how to actually do it. The two work in sync to make sure every speck of the floor is clean. Once they were finished, Pudding fell down on the couch that was usually for guests while Hero was doing practice swings with the mop like it was a baseball bat.
“Hooome run! That's the winning strike from Hero Harris, with the knights moving on to the finals!” he says to himself before putting the mop down and laughing. “You know, I used to want to be a big shot major league baseball player. Stupid, right?” He says with a chuckle. Pudding perks up and starts talking.
“I don’t know what baseball is but that sounded fun! You should try it!” She says happily but Hero shakes his head and adjusts his hat.
“Nah, it’s too late for me. I’m already too far gone.” He says holding his hand out as I write him a pay check. “Alright, thanks man. Have fun with your big bro.” He says lightly tapping Pudding. She seems confused and speaks to herself.
“Big… bro…?” She says before staring at me. I was busy closing up the shop until I hear her run up to me and yell out, “Big bro!!!°˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°” I sigh… I guess I’m an older brother now… I should probably go to the store and buy her some crackers… I wonder how Matt is doing…
