Actually, the reason Healthcare is so expensive is that government interference causes it to go up. See they passed a law that requires them to charge the same amount to Medicare and Medicaid so they raised all the prices to match. There so much demand and not enough supply for medical services that there's really no competition going on.
The laws favor treatment rather than cures. If they fined hospitals and drug companies for management of illnesses rather than curing them or gave tax breaks for permanent cures, medical care would be dirt cheap.
Proof: in the 1980s there was an epidemic of stomach ulcers the pharma and doctors made bank with meds that managed the pain. Then some doctor found out a certain antibiotic permanently got rid of the ulcers. Doctors and bug pharma lost massive amounts of money from pain management medicines.
