I agree, I'm old enough to remember a world before technological 'distractions' ruled our lives. Far too many people care nothing about politics or bury their heads and ignore it completely.
I once worked with a Bosnia refuge who told me of the genocide the Serbs inflicted because they were Muslims.
He also said that once you have no food, water, shelter, or safety, politics becomes a memory. Survival takes precedence over everything else.
Trump may very well inflict enough pain for people to become less 'distracted' and renew political focus on their 'pain'
god knows the big beautiful bill will certainly change the safety nets in this Country for the worst.
It's just an option I have, but historically speaking, universal suffering creates change for the ones who created it.
