there are certainly some places that should not be accessible to children, but so much if it is helpful too. its up to parents to enforce what their children can and cannot use. no government is trustworthy enough to have that kind of power

Parents should be penalised for not protecting their children on the internet. There should be filtered internet provided by ISP's that can deal with this.



The government should enforce ISP's to regulate specific networks that are designed for and in order to protect children from seeing harmful material. Not censor the whole internet for adults.

then what happens when a child accesses something without their parents knowing? the idea of blocking children from accessing something they shouldnt is something i love, but in practice it would not only be an insane invasion of privacy, but would also be too hard to enforce, both actually doing it and the wording of the laws

Then it is the duty of the parent to discipline the child and block them from having access to devices that can access the unfiltered internet.



No law is perfect and never will be but the purpose of the law I propose as a hypothetical will be to limit the harm done to children by limiting internet access until they are of age to be able to act reasonably and understand what they are accessing.

a lot of this i comepletely agree with, theres just the fact that it would be nearly impossible to implement an as 32 said it would be a huge invasion of privacy and would be limiting our rights as people

If governments truly cared for children's safety they would just make it illegal for under-18's to access the internet unfiltered and anyone under-18 can only have limited, filtered internet access on devices and via networks that are filtered. It is my opinion that anyone under the age of 18 should never have access to social media or websites with communication features with strangers in any capacity. Personally I don't think kids should have smartphones, only old-school brick phones that don't have internet access of video cameras so that they can only contact close friends and relatives.
