Capitalism thrives on incentives beyond greed. Innovation, creativity, and problem-solving drive many entrepreneurs. Think of someone like Elon Musk—say what you want, but his push for electric vehicles or space travel isn’t just about personal wealth; it’s about vision & impact. People start businesses to achieve, not just to hoard.

To be accurate, the lust for POWER is the principal motivator once a person has achieved generational wealth. Today, the gap between CEO wages and their average worker is obscene. Capitalism is like a carnival where every game is rigged.

Generational wealth? What is that number? In your opinion, how much is too much to pass on?

One million to each child. The rest forfeited to the common good

So, if I have a business worth $2M, and only one kid, when I die you think my child should be forced to sell the business for the common good?
0 ups, 2mo
If the child runs the business, it would be in the public interest for him/her to be successful and forfeit excess as their parent did before them!

You also must acknowledge that to become a billionaire you must have pulled some shady shit!

J.K. Rowling became a billionaire by writing books.

Same rules for honest players. Always an exception. We will design a plaque for them.

We co-exist in a community that encompasses the world. Much of the planet subsists on barely enough sustenance to ward off starvation. We must come up with compassionate ways to re-distribute wealth in the service of our conscience

Are these waters too deep for you? Let me know, and we can get back to insults?

Do you think those who are successful are hurting you and me somehow?

As an example Money from others countries is washed with real estate investments in many North American cities. They gentrify low, and middle income neighbourhoods, making it unaffordable for those not wealthy. Rent is unaffordable for too many. Voila! HOMELESSNESS

1. Thats how many people doing that?
2. Who are these people?
3. You think rent is the sole cause of homelessness?
4. Rent in suburbs of NYC for example is affordable for the median income.

Thank you for putting some thought into your response. The average rent in Toronto, or Vancouver, for a one bedroom apartment is $2,800 monthly. That is my monthly pension. One of the main issues with the homeless is the problem of untreated mental illness. America opened their insane asylum doors, and dumped psychopaths, and lunatics onto the streets of America. As for who they are? They operate in darkness

I agree both that Canada is much less affordable than the U.S. and that we need to reinstate insane asylums.
