So tax deductions in my paycheck don't go to illegal immigrants who live off welfare.

Entering any nation illegally is their first crime.
If the paper verification checks out they're actually the legal immigrant they claim to be, they are immediately released.

They might get “caught up” in raids, but once citizenship is established, they are free to stay. Many of those you refer to are children of illegals and the government gives the parents the choice of whether or not their children accompany them when deported.
