But FYI: Domestic abuse/violence (whether physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, financial or involving coercive control, and other forms) is still a serious criminal offense in the UK and most developed countries, regardless of how much of your face you choose to cover, for whatever reason.

Whether every single case gets to court and the perpetrator punished accordingly is another question, of course, and another topic, but it's still illegal and there are certainly no plans to legalize it any time soon.

Like I said, domestic abuse is still a crime in most developed countries, including the UK/Europe and even the US under Trump. I certainly don't support, defend or "protect" those who engage in that, if that's what you're implying. Neither does the law.

As for "Taqiyya", I don't know why this term crops up so much online nowadays. I'm not sure I've ever heard a single Muslim mention it, or if they're even familiar with the term at all. Unlike certain internet commentators who all seem to be experts in it all of a sudden.

Anyway, as far as I understand, it's mainly a historical Shi'a concept (rather than Sunni, which is 90% of Muslims) and simply refers to being allowed to deny your faith if your life or property is at risk (ie you can say you're not Muslim if you will be harmed for admitting you are).

It does NOT mean Islam teaches all Muslims they are allowed (or even encouraged) to lie to non-believers about *anything* to secretly spread Islam/Shariah law under the radar or deceive the infidels or whatever else. That's misinformed conspiratorial bunk you read on the internet. On places like this lol.

Re Shariah councils/courts: those numbers are inaccurate. Firstly, because no official precise figures of how many exist are kept anyway, to my knowledge, and many are informal and not official law courts. Estimates are between 30 and 85 Shariah councils in the UK. In any case, UK law applies across the land and those councils/"courts" ultimately have no real final legal authority and are subservient to UK law. They're mainly for giving advice to settle domestic matters/disputes between Muslim families on stuff like inheritance and issuing Islamic divorce certificates.

Fair enough, I'll let you off. I'm not the mod and don't care about reposts anyway. Memes are supposed to be reposted by definition. Otherwise they wouldn't be memes. So as long as people aren't spamming the same meme every week or constantly "stealing" other people's creations, I don't even really understand that rule.

I do care about accurate stats and facts backed by credible sources though.
