Intervening in the forces of nature to kill innocent children? That's an interesting kind of justice and mercy this God of yours practices. 🤔
Is God involved in every other tragedy that occurs then and are they also examples of divine retribution? Are people disabled in car accidents on their honeymoon or who die in plane crashes or parents who get terminal cancer in their 30s also being punished? Is every child killed in war or famine in need of repentance too?
One of the difficult realities of life is that at some point tragedy can befall all people regardless of who they are. And many people who commit incredible wrongs live to a ripe old age and die peacefully in their sleep having never faced justice or repented, or even acknowledged their actions.
I agree Trump is not a "real" Christian (whatever that even means). He's not embodying Christian values at any rate and I'm not sure he even believes in most of it, and certainly doesn't practice his faith much. Helps him win votes though. If anyone should be facing God's wrath to cause him to repent, maybe it's him? And not innocent children. May they rest in peace, anyway, whatever comes after.
