hahaha, I actually almost did a similar thing with Messenger today.
I haven't used it in the longest, but I contacted someone I know from Texas yesterday just to make sure her and hers was all right. I knew she didn't live near a river, but still.
So I'm just using my browser, but then I got the app later yesterday. But then with the app I now have to turn the whole tablet, the screen won't do it itself automatically like it used to. So that's a hassle, and I got rid of it.
So today on my browser, I see there's a new message from her, I go to look, but now they want me to do a six digit code thingy. I don't want to deal with that nonsense, so I tried going back, and then it says if I continue but don't do the sixth code digit, I can lose all my old Messenger conversations. So there was a cancel option, and here I am panicking again and luckily I hesitated before hare kare-ing myself.
It sounds stupid, but I actually get disoriented sometimes with things right next to each other, like "cancel" or "continue." I have trouble spelling things and have to constantly recheck to make sure I get things right. An eye doctor I had years ago told me that it could be a "spatial interpretation" problem, but I would have to get tested for that, and that would be in Manhattan. So I just never got around to it.
Sometimes when crossing the street, when I'm looking to see if I see red or green and I see the other side is green, I've nearly actually started crossing on the red before realizing what I was doing because I confused the two. This is not necessarily a good thing when crossing a busy intersection with oncoming traffic.
