yes but were were many species of human, stretching over at least 15 million years before our species even arose. They were human, had human brains, walked on 2 legs, worshipped gods, buried their dead, sang and did human things but they wernt homosapiens, they were a slightly different version. An entire other species. Not just one either, there are at least 7 confirmed and possibly up to 20 different species of past humans
