Remember we still have inflation, it's just that the rate of inflation is lower. It's not like we have negative inflation. Plus every greedy home owner is not going to sell at the tax value of their home, which should be the case. A lower interest rate will help but home prices need to also drop.

So you are willong to sell for 80% of market value? Didnt think so.....

As an afterthought...housing goes up amd never goes down (unless of course you live on love canel) as NO NEW LAND IS BEING MADE. You can find cheap land with no services or utilities....go for it!

I've seen many housing crashes in the 2000s due to economic downfalls, and bad lending practices. If you don't remember bush era and Obama era housing then I guess we will never see those prices again, it's going to take a bad recession, and a lot of sellers to drop the current prices. Didn't help that COVID caused Internet home purchases and investments in homes to sky rocket. A shack is still a shack even with spit shine.

Funny...I was able to add on 2 extras rooms and a bathroom during that time. Still own that same property......i wonder how so many let the economy control their destiny? No visi0n? No free will? No job?

Some people weren't handed a silver spoon and we're delt a bad hand with health complications, that riddled them into debt on top of loans. So if a bank sees bad debt they don't lend even if rent is the same as a mortgage payment. Now the average mortgage is pushing over 3k. Add insurance electricity and food with living expenses not to mention a car, you would need a college degree that landed you a 32.00 per hour minimum job. Not everyone has that luxury. Some people are handed everything, while others drown watching everyone around them have and get what they want.

Not everyone qualifies to join our nations forces, but thank you for your service. I guess what I'm getting at is life in general is easier for some than others. Nobody can control what they are born into. Regardless of political position every citizen should be able to afford the basic needs on a minimum wage position. This is where we struggle in America. Even at a wage above the minimum people still struggle to live within their means and provide for their family or go on a yearly vacation.

I am going to say i agree with you. Being a son of a public servant, i was left with nothing but some nice plaques he was awarded. It would have been alot easier with a $mil in the bank....so Icould piss it away and go bankrupt....and not give a ahit.

If old people begin to die off prices also go down, but the children selling off old style homes are still greedy. When banks stopped lending based off taxed assessed value and began a lucrative business of hiring assessors, the true value of homes and properties sky rocketed. Then the state governments screw over property taxes with higher assessments. It's a big game of bend over and let me try to shove a screw you know where game.

If your local is assesong your property every year...you need a new state...

Why would a state push out its own people that have lived in it before it was founded over property taxes? Then try to entice newcomers with cheap apartments that will fly away in a tornado? Those who purchase a home unknowingly don't consider the extra 8k+ in property taxes and that's if they're lucky.

To bad the Yankees took over the government and turned it into a under the table kickback heaven where everyone is watching the streets crumble, but business boom up from nowhere, and mega million dollar homes sit empty because I guess empty buildings is a great way to sifen tax money.
