its steam's built in fork of Wine that they keep updated. lets you run 99% of windows only games on linux

I think i have heard of something like that.

And i don't think you can play online games with an anti cheating software on it.

SOME games with EAC dont work, but thats because the developers didnt click the little "allow linux" button. Elden Ring works fine online

It is not ever getting replaced since it's not my computer, or his. (My mom bought it from my uncle)

But if i were to replace the OS, i would do Debian with either xfce, lxqt, or lxde.

might be better to stick to something popular so its easier to find answers if you have issues
