Luis Alvarez, 31, is credited with saving Leah Lendel, 9, following a shark attack at Boca Grande, Florida. Alvarez was the first person into the water, fellow rescuer Raynel Lugo said in an interview with local television station Fox4 News.
"He went really deep. He faced the shark.”; Leah was taken to hospital, where surgeons were able to save her nearly severed hand. She is recovering. ICE has determined that the only fit reward for Alvarez is DEPORTATION.
