They don't care if their consumers are average, as long as they still have enough consumers able to pay, and they do.
As for Disney's "wokeness", it's all performative. Once it they realize it's not profitable, they will drop it, but slowly and subtlely, to avoid the cancel culture backlash, they will try and have it both ways.
