Many blue states are higher in total population due to having large cities, which have neighborhoods that face significant wealth inequality and crime issues like red states, but are also a lot more dense. Hence, a blue state or a blue city can have a greater number of m*rd*r cases despite having a lower percentage.
Severe crimes are dangerous and wrong, no matter the race or citizenship status of whoever does it. This is something that both parties should collaborate on, becoming stricter on crime and fixing the systemic issues that cause individuals to resort to crime without using racist or xenophobic rhetoric.
