Okay, you should take a breath here and not lecture people on Chinese history until you understand it a little better. It was the Cultural Revolution, not the Industrial Revolution. Also, the ethnic violence of the Cultural Revolution appears to have been turned AGAINST ethnic and cultural minorities, not done by them. "Ethnic violence was widespread during the Cultural Revolution in 1966, moreover, as Maoist fanatics defaced mosques, dynamited Tibetan temples, and attacked those wearing ethnic clothing – vestiges of the “old China” they sought to destroy."
And minority groups SHOULD be normalized. I realize that you are arguing from a British perspective, while I am taking an American perspective. I am white, and most of my Black neighbors and coworkers' ancestors have been in this country a good 2 centuries longer than my ancestors. They are minorities, from a demographic perspective, but they are American in their blood and bones, and their concerns are and should be vital to the welfare of my country. Heck, yes! Black Lives Matter! And any northern European-descended person living in the Southwest of the US who wants to complain about the Latin and Hispanic population should be as embarrassed as an Englishman complaining if he hears Scots Gaelic north of Hadrian's Wall.
