That’s true. Most immigrants came for better lives, but that doesn’t mean they have to renounce their backgrounds. Assimilation isn’t necessarily good, because we lose parts of ourselves and broaden our ideas. As for people who were born here waving their parents’ flags it wouldn’t make sense for them to leave. They’ve been here their whole lives but still deserve to proudly express themselves
