Father's Day

Both mothers and fathers should "bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord". But you shouldn't be afraid to discipline your children because you don't want to provoke them to anger.

No matter how good an example you set, no matter what kind of neighborhood you live in, no matter how religious you are, no matter what friends your children do or don't have, no matter what activities your children do or don't participate in, eventually someday your children will do something you don't approve of (if they haven't already) and you will have to punish them for it.

Discipline is a biblical mandate so should definitely be part of raising children. Boundaries, within the family, church (body of believers), and society as a whole are necessary to keep each group and subgroup functioning cohesively.
