yeah they were
the feminist movement had its faults but it also had its points
The problem is that modern feminism isn't even feminism anymore
bc it values virtue signaling at the expense of women while claiming you hate women if you don't support ir

Yes to your first point, no to your second. But you're almost there! In 2023, women earned $.83 for every dollar a man made. Women are still significantly underrepresented in the House and the Senate. A female presidential candidate just had her sexual history pilloried when she was running against a man with a record of decades of cheating and sexual assault. In academia, only about 36% of tenured professors are women, although women earn more than half of the PhDs.

It has gotten better, but we're not at equality yet.

How tf did you even find this

What statistic is that based on? Is it all women and men employed? Because that's not a fair statistic, since many women leave work to take care of kids and then rejoin the work force once they're done, and they have lower paying jobs because they're restarting work, and to a boss, they're not much different from a teenager trying to work, while the men at that age have likely been getting promoted in a profession or have been getting raises or have more experience working with their field. If you compare women who have never married to men, you'll find women actually make more on average than men do. And this was true back in the 80s.

also, no that is not what happened. Kamala got flack because she slept her way into politics. With all the allegations against him, no one is accusing Trump of that. There is no one in Trump's life that made him who he is today. We would not know Kamala's name without Willie Brown. And it's crazy because with how dumb she is, she should've been nowhere near being president.

I am not as familiar with academia statistics, but once again, I must ask is that because of a gender disparity in university hiring, or is it because women are more likely to take care of kids and aren't usually as willing to commit to being a professor?

"since many women leave work to take care of kids" is exactly the kind of structural inequity that adds up to less lifetime earnings and job opportunity for women.

So, you really think Kamala Harris having a relationship with Willie Brown is on the same level as Trump cheating on all three of his wives and sexually assaulting other women, then bragging about it? That's a massive, gender-based, double standard.

Structural discrimination is the problem, and that's why feminism is still a vital issue.

So what do you suggest? We destroy the family system? We kill kids because they're a threat to careers? Or the dads stay at home while moms go out and work? That only works if the woman has a good career opportunity. Men are far more likely to do more dangerous jobs for higher pay (more males will do construction or risk their lives to be firemen or jobs of the like). Men are more likely to take a job with low security or make an audacious move to potentially get a higher paying career path. Women can do it do, but most don't. Because they know taking care of children will likely end up making the risks not worth it.

I never said it was the same, though Willie Brown was cheating to be with her. What I said was that Kamala's whole political career was founded on that incident, while Trump's cheating did not cause his fame. That is a massive difference. Trump is a competent man, regardless of his many problems. Kamala is one of the dumbest politicians I've ever seen, and the fact that she slept her way in says a lot.

Mr. Inherited-Wealth-Multiple-Bankruptcies competent?? ??? ????

Ms. Harris, after her time in San Francisco, served as the state's attorney general and then as a state senator, winning statewide elections against talented candidates to win each post.

And what you're saying about men's jobs and women's jobs is just that the system works from a man's perspective now. There are a lot of ways to make the system more equitable, starting with a broad recognition that childcare is not primarily a woman's responsibility, but both parents'. Very few high-paying jobs are dangerous in ways that mean they can only be done by men. And often jobs are more compensated if they're perceived as "men's jobs".

I get that you haven't thought about it a lot yet, and I can see that you're on the path to developing into a person who can have a relationship based on equality. Take my word for it, doing the thought work to have a feminist attitude ahead of time will really help you down the road.
