That's the point. He doesn't have sex with women because he wants to have sex with women; he has sex to overpower others, which makes him feel more secure and in control. His being gay, or at least bi, is heavily suggested after several confrontations with male coworkers. (Both in the movie and the book)
There's also a possibility that he's asexual since he doesn't ever enjoy sex with women.
Anyway, there's a weird trend with younger Gen Z men (the alpha male culture people) who see him as some ideal/peak masculinity. In reality, he's just an entitled, insecure shell of a human being.
